PRO
In
another thrilling PRO game that went right down to the finish,
the Pro Titans came back to defeat the Pro Vikings 18-14.
The Titans opened the scoring on a perfect fade pass from
Mike Messano to Gregory El-Hage. The Vikings countered right
before the half ended when Wade Shaughnessy ran in for a
score and then converted the PAT to close the half with an
8-6 lead. In the second half, Garrett Prock took the Titans
kickoff all the way for a TD to extend the Viking lead to
14-6. Then late in the fourth quarter, with the Vikings driving
deep in Titan territory, Messano made the key play of the
game when he intercepted a Viking pass and took it 70 yards
for the score. But the Vikings stopped the Titans PAT attempt
and held the lead at 14-12. But then, with under two minutes
remaining in the game, the Titans finished a key drive when
Matt Kreichman found El-Hage open for a catch and run that
put the Titans ahead for good at 18-14. The Titan Defense
held on and was able to stop the last Vikings Drive to seal
the win and advance to the Super Bowl. For the Vikings, Drew
Danner played an Outstanding defensive game with numerous
flag pulls and constant pressure on the Titans QB's. The
Titans D. was helped by fine play of LB's Ryan Sloan and
Anthony Petrone. Congrats to both Teams on a very exciting
game.
The
Dolphins are going to the Super Bowl !! The Dolphins were
in a tight 14-14 game at halftime against the Raiders. The
Raiders D.J. Boharic made a great grab in traffic on a deep
pass, and came down at the one yard line. QB Armondo Casteneda
then took the next play in around the left side for a QB
keeper, and punched it in the endzone. The Dolphins came
out strong in the second half and rolled the score up to
the final count which was Dolphins 30 Raiders 14. Again,
this was a total team effort. David Webb led the Fins at
QB showing why he has earned the nickname "Swivel Hips".
Nick Greco caught a nice pass streaking down the sideline
for a big first down. Ricky Musumeci caught a 20 yard TD
pass. Robert Clark found the end zone again but made some
super catches in traffic. Tyler Avery showed his flashy moves
from the RB spot and made a nice grab in the back of the
end zone for a two point conversion. Will Bryant had another
solid day at Center. Nick Frank played injured, but caught
a two point conversion on a tipped ball on a nice catch.
Chris Draws came up big on defense. With the score tied,
Draws stepped in front of a deflected Casteneda pass and
picked it off. Draws also came up with some big pass deflections
to help the Dolphin cause. The Dolphins are going to their
3rd Super Bowl in the last 4 years. Sunday November 4th is
the super showdown against the Titans.
